Here's a perspective on Michael that may have so far been somewhat overlooked. Michael was my Godfather. While I have visited him at the LCS, I primarily spent time with him outside of his work. His ubiquitous smile is burned into the memories of all who knew him.
But the thing that impressed me the most about him, and continues to inspire me today is this: Michael, a man of almost incalculable intelligence, was able to communicate on any level with any person in a way that they could understand. While that one fact is impressive enough, he was at the very same time able to learn important lessons from anyone from any walk of life - many of whom most of us would pass over as insignificant.
That is the most important of the lessons I have learned from him - and I will carry it with me for the rest of my life.
